Brandon Halsey talks Shlemenko's failed test: 'Obviously he felt he needed to change something up'

Bellator middleweight champion Brandon Halsey spoke to Bloody Elbow ahead of his title defense against Kendall Grove at Bellator 137.

Some fighters just seem to get fast tracked to success in MMA. While most take between five and six years to get to a major title, or even a chance to contend for one, others seem to step into a title fight almost from day one. That latter group is where current Bellator middleweight champion Brandon Halsey finds himself, having won the 185 lb strap in just under three years from his pro debut.

Now he's set to fight former UFC vet Kendall Grove at Bellator 137 on Friday, May 15th, as good a time as any to figure out just how he got so far so fast and what brought him to MMA in the first place.
