Yet another major fight in the boxing world will take place this year. Promoter DiBella Entertainment and cable network Showtime on Wednesday announced a super fight of sorts between WBA middleweight champion Daniel Jacobs and former champ Peter Quillin which will take place Dec. 5 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
The intriguing match will be televised live on Showtime beginning at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.
The potential matchup has been brewing for years, dating back to when Quillin (32-0-1, 23 KOs) was the reigning WBO 160-pound titlist. Jacobs was getting his career back on track after first losing to Dmitry Pirog and then battling cancer, where he stepped away from the sweet science for 18 months.
