Longtime MMA veteran Leonard Garcia has decided to walk away from combat sports following an unanimous decision victory at Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship 16, which took place Saturday night in Biloxi, Miss.
A fan-favorite ever since his WEC and UFC days over a decade ago, “Bad Boy” announced his retirement after a hard-fought, bloody victory over fellow MMA fighter Joe Elmore in the main event of the bare-knuckle boxing show.
In his post-fight interview, Garcia said he “still got a lot left in the tank” but felt it was time to stop. He retires with a record of 2-1 in bare-knuckle boxing and 18-13-1 in MMA, a long run that includes wins over “The Korean Zombie” and Jens Pulver.
