Anne Ribeiro entered a cage for her amateur MMA debut Saturday night with big expectations, but it didn’t go her way.
The daughter of longtime UFC and Strikeforce veteran Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva took on Hannah Jackson in her first amateur bout at XFN 23 in South Florida, but judges scored the close contest in favor of her opponent, awarding Jackson a unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27).
Jackson, 22 years of age, improved to 2-2 as an amateur fighter, bouncing back from a decision loss to Bellator prospect Valerie Loureda last September. Ribeiro, 19, now stands 0-1 as an amateur following the 130-pound catchweight clash.
