Last weekend yielded an unexpected loss or two for big-show veterans looking to gain traction on the regional circuit.
Just as last Saturday's UFC on Fox 12 yielded up a fair share of upsets, so did the MMA world's smaller shows play host to some unexpected results, not the least of which involved would-be featherweight contender Magomedrasul Khasbulaev.
"Frodo" Khasbulaev (22-6, 5-0 Bellator) tore through Bellator's 2013 featherweight tournament and asserted himself as one of the organization's most promising contenders. Persistent visa issues then pushed him into a lengthy hiatus, eventually prompting his release from Bellator entirely.
