Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters are going down at an alarming rate.
The injury bug's latest victim? No. 13-ranked welterweight Thiago Alves (21-10), who was pulled from his UFC Fight Night 79 main event spot against Benson Henderson (22-5) in Seoul, South Korea on Nov. 21, 2015 after sustaining a broken rib (via MMA Fighting).
Jorge Masvidal (29-9) steps in after being removed from his co-main event matchup with Dong Hyun Kim (20-3-1-1) to face "Smooth" in a 170-pound tussle.
