Bellator’s Dillon Danis suspended seven months, fined $7,500 for role in UFC 229 post-fight brawl

Dillon Danis the latest (and presumably last) person to be sanctioned for his actions in the UFC 229 post-fight brawl.

The jiu-jitsu standout, teammate of Conor McGregor, and Bellator MMA fighter was suspended seven months and fined $7,500 by the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) at Monday’s hearing. Danis’ ban is retroactive to the night of UFC 229, meaning he’s eligible to return to competition after May 6th, 2019.

It was after Khabib Nurmagomedov’s win over Conor McGregor that the UFC lightweight champion leapt out of the cage to confront Danis, sparking a post-fight melee that spilled back into the Octagon.
