Japan’s Kiichi Kunimoto is bringing his considerable experience to Bellator.
MMA Fighting confirmed with officials that the 37-year-old welterweight has signed with the promotion, following an earlier report from Gong magazine. Kunimoto (20-7-2, 1 NC) has previously competed for several well-known promotions including the UFC, Rizin Fighting Federation, and Pancrase.
In his five-fight UFC run, Kunimoto won his first three fights (including one via disqualification) before losing to Neil Magny and Zak Ottow. That second loss, a split decision, was Kunimoto’s last in the Octagon and he went on to compete for Rizin where he has picked up back-to-back wins over Ryuichiro Sumimura and Satoru Kitaoka.
