As the premier mixed martial arts (MMA) organization on the planet, Ultimate Fighting Championships (UFC) is often looked upon as a trendsetter in today's combat world.
So when UFC recently sold for $4 billion, smaller and less-established MMA promotions certainly had much to say. While Bellator MMA has already carved out its own special niche in the market in correlation with Spike TV, president Scott Coker believes the sale of UFC only improves the promotion's business capabilities.
"I was really excited, because for our sport, what a great accomplishment," said Coker earlier this week in an interview with MMA Junkie.
