Cyborg’s Bellator debut was a successful one as she took out incumbent featherweight champion Julia Budd by fourth-round TKO in January. Her first defense would be against Blencowe, winner of six of her last seven, who was getting a second shot at capturing Bellator gold.
It wasn’t meant to be as Cyborg put on a vintage performance, dominating Blencowe for the majority of the bout before finishing with a rear-naked choke in round two.
