It still pays to be Tito Ortiz. Despite falling short in his bid for the Bellator light heavyweight title, Ortiz handily led the Bellator: Dynamite 1 salary report, pocketing $300,000 for his main event loss to Liam McGeary on Spike TV.
The California State Athletic Commission released the event's figures on Wednesday.
McGeary, who submitted Ortiz with a first-round inverted triangle to defend his 205-pound belt, took home $50,000 in the winning effort.
Bellator: Dynamite 1 took place Sept. 19 at the SAP Center in San Jose, Calif.
The event featured the debut of two new high-profile Bellator additions: ex-Strikeforce champion Josh Thomson ($10,000), who submitted Mike Bronzoulis ($10,000), and ex-UFC contender Phil Davis ($130,000), who dispatched Emanuel Newton ($70,000) and Francis Carmont ($17,000) to win Bellator's one-night tournament.
