Bellator Contender Patricky Freire Targeting August Returning After Undergoing Wrist Surgery

Patricky Freire will be out of action until at least late summer after undergoing surgery to repair a ruptured tendon in his right wrist.

The elder “Pitbull” brother revealed on Monday evening that he had undergone a procedure to repair the injury, which was suffered in a split-decision triumph against Ryan Scope at Bellator “Newcastle” on Feb. 9.

“Got out of surgery a couple hours ago. I ruptured a tendon on my wrist in the first round of my last fight. Surgery was a success, but the damage was a bit more complicated than expected,” Freire wrote on Instagram.
