Ilima-Lei Macfarlane will look to defend her Bellator women’s flyweight title for the third time in April.
Macfarlane is set to meet Veta Arteaga in the co-main event of the Bellator event scheduled for April 27 in San Jose. MMAjunkie.com first reported the news Saturday; Bellator officials announced the pairing later that night on the Bellator 214 broadcast.
Macfarlane is coming off a third-round submission of former UFC title challenger Valerie Letourneau at Bellator 213 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Prior to that, the 28-year-old stopped Alejandra Lara in her first title defense. Macfarlane, the only women’s flyweight champ in Bellator history, won the belt in late 2017.
