Recent Bellator co-headliner Falco Neto will be ineligible to compete for the near future after failing a drug test.
MMA Fighting confirmed with Mohegan Tribe Department of Athletic Regulation director Mike Mazzulli that Neto’s in-competition drug test for his bout at Bellator Birmingham produced a positive result for metabolites of the steroids methyltestosterone and nandrolone. The news was first reported by ESPN.
Neto was handed a six-month suspension and a $2,500 fine.
The May 4 event took place at Resorts World Arena in Birmingham, England. All overseas Bellator cards are regulated and sanctioned by the Mohegan Tribe Department of Athletic Regulation.
