The Viacom-owned promotion has followed in the footsteps of several major sporting leagues in limiting attendance to a sporting event in order to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus.
Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed the move after an initial report from MMA Junkie. Attendance will be restricted to no more than 250 people per guidelines issued on Thursday by Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont.
Bellator 241 takes place Friday at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., and is headlined by a featherweight grand prix fight between champ Patricio “Pitbull” Freire and Pedro Carvalho.
