Rory MacDonald and Jon Fitch didn’t have a satisfying conclusion to their headlining bout at Bellator 220, but both were among the top earners at Saturday’s event.
MacDonald and Fitch battled to a majority draw at the SAP Center in San Jose, Calif., which allowed the reigning welterweight champion to advance to the semifinals of the promotion’s 170-pound grand prix. MacDonald took home an event high $200,000 for his work, while Fitch garnered $140,000. The California State Athletic Commission released salaries from the event to MMAjunkie.com.
Former light heavyweight king Phil Davis received the card’s second-largest payday for his third-round stoppage of Liam McGeary in their rematch.
