INGLEWOOD, Calif. -- To use pro wrestling terminology, this was an old-school squash match.
Former World Wrestling Entertainment heavyweight champion Jake Hager, known to wrestling fans as Jack Swagger, made his pro mixed martial arts debut on Saturday night, taking on a hand-picked foe in 41-year old brawler J.W. Kiser.
And it seems Hager might have knack for this real fighting stuff, as he showed sound fundamentals in making short work of the Kansas native in their heavyweight main-card bout at Bellator 214. The time of the stoppage for a submission to a head-and-arm choke at the Forum was 2:09.
