Rematches in the professional fight game are as common as a housefly. Trilogies, while they aren’t exactly the norm, there have been plenty over the years that have captivated the minds of fight fans. Tetralogies, however, are quite rare, especially in mixed martial arts.
On Friday night, Daniel Straus will defend his Bellator featherweight title against a man he knows better than most: Patricio Freire. The two have already met three times, with “Pitbull” getting the best of Straus twice. Freire first toppled the American at Bellator 45 in 2011 via unanimous decision and then again at Bellator 132 in ’15 by way of fifth-round rear-naked choke to steal the 145-pound title away.
