After suffering the first loss of his professional MMA career at Bellator 170, Christian Gonzalez will receive a lengthy medical suspension by the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) due to an ‘unreported stab wound’.
Because Gonzalez didn’t disclose his stab wound to the commission before his catchweight bout against Daniel Rodriguez, the CSAC have suspended him indefinitely.
Gonzalez, who won his first two fights via stoppage, was knocked out by the undefeated Rodriguez in the second round.
The event featured a headlining bout between MMA veterans Chael Sonnen and Tito Ortiz, which saw Ortiz submit Sonnen with a rear-naked choke in the first round.
