Davis made an emphatic statement in his Bellator 163 main event on Friday night, thoroughly dominating Liam McGeary for five full rounds. The former collegiate national champion used a rinse-and-repeat mix of slick grappling and ground and pound to get the job done. He scored takedowns in each round, and kept McGeary fighting off his back for extended portions of the bout. He also kept McGeary in danger by threatening with submissions throughout.
Though McGeary came out with a sense of urgency in the final round — even taking Davis down early on, to the delight of his fans — Davis was able to recoup and reestablish his dominance.
