Russian heavyweight Kirill Sidelnikov discusses his return to MMA following a five-year absence from the sport.
Back in 2008, a Russian heavyweight emerged in M-1 Global who as thought to be Fedor Emelianenko's successor.
Kirill Sidelnikov was given the nickname ‘Baby Fedor' by Emelianenko's camp because of the way he emulated the former Pride heavyweight champion. He was believed to be a promising fighter in MMA's heaviest weight class, but never seemed to find his footing the way his role model did. At one point, he was even suspended by the California State Athletic Commission for a failed drug test.
