Aspen Ladd to appeal TKO loss to Germaine de Randamie

Three months after suffering the first loss of her MMA career, Aspen Ladd is hoping to get that result overturned.

The UFC women’s bantamweight prospect was quickly stopped by Germaine de Randamie in July’s UFC Sacramento main event, as she was knocked down from the first punch of the fight. After one partially landed follow-up punch, referee Herb Dean called an end to the contest at just 16 seconds, which did raise some question marks over whether or not the stoppage was premature.

According to ESPN’s Marc Raimondi, who spoke to California State Athletic Commission executive officer Andy Foster, “Ladd’s team is hoping the commission votes to overturn the bout to a no contest at the hearing in Los Angeles, her manager Dave Hirschbein said.
