There is no way that Urijah Faber should be fighting Henry Cejudo next. Even with Cejudo’s bizarre call-out after his victory at UFC 238 and Faber’s response last weekend, it just doesn’t make any sense from a competitive merit standpoint. Faber is fresh off of a victory against a No. 15-ranked opponent following a nearly three-year absence. Prior to that he defeated Brad Pickett who was nowhere near a belt and retired shortly afterwards.
I understand the desire to see Faber in a title fight. It’s become an Ultimate Fighting Championship tradition since World Extreme Cagefighting was folded into the company.
