The light-heavyweight veteran was informed of a potential anti-doping violation Thursday, UFC officials announced in a statement. The potential violation stemmed from an out-of-competition drug test administered by USADA on Sept. 27.
As a result of the positive drug test, Nogueira has been pulled from his UFC on FOX 26 fight against Jared Cannonier in December. The MMA organization is currently looking for a replacement opponent, the statement read.
Nogueira reacted to the news in an Instagram post Thursday.
“I am here to try to clarify because we do not yet have all the explanations, but from now on we will investigate this situation in depth.
