Despite already having a fight lined up against Elias Theodorou on September 22nd, Antonio Carlos Junior is hoping to fill in for the injured Yoel Romero to fight Paulo Costa at UFC 230.
Yesterday, Romero revealed that he wouldn’t be able to fight Costa on November 3rd as he needs more time to recover from his recent eye surgery. Soon enough ‘Shoeface’ caught onto the news, and campaigned on his Twitter account to take Romero’s place.
Since being finished by Dan Kelly in March 2016, Carlos Junior (10-2, 1 NC) has gone on a five-fight winning streak, with his last three wins all coming by submission.
