Surging light heavyweight Anthony Smith is already booked for another big fight just a week after knocking out former divisional champion Mauricio Rua, as the Ultimate Fighting Championship announced Thursday that “Lionheart” will take on Volkan Oezdemir in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, on Oct. 27.
Smith has been a force to be reckoned with after moving up from middleweight to light heavyweight in June of this year. So far, the 30-year-old has knocked out former title holders Rashad Evans and Rua in the opening minutes of round one.
