Former title contender Anthony Smith has agreed to face Jimmy Crute at UFC 260 after Johnny Walker suffered a torn pectoral muscle in training that forced him out of the March contest.
Multiple sources close to the situation confirmed the news to MMA Fighting on Tuesday following an initial report from ESPN.
Smith had previously addressed a potential fight against Crute after he dispatched Devin Clark by triangle choke this past November. While the matchup didn’t come together initially, Smith will now get the chance to face Crute on March 27 as part of the UFC 260 pay-per-view
As for Crute, he will look to build on a recent two-fight win streak of his own as he continues to climb up the light heavyweight rankings.
