With just over a month to go until his highly anticipated bout against Ben Askren, Jorge Masvidal will take on fellow UFC welterweight Anthony Pettis in a jiu-jitsu match on June 15.
The grappling match will take place at DT Promotions in Pensacola, Florida, and has been hyped as a ‘jiu-jitsu superfight’, per MMA Fighting’s Dave Meltzer.
Top UFC middleweight contender Yoel Romero will also compete at the event, but his opponent remains a mystery.
Just three weeks after the Pettis match, Masvidal will take on Askren, the former Bellator and ONE FC welterweight champion, at the blockbuster UFC 239 pay-per-view on July 6.
