Shortly after catching wind that Khabib Nurmagomedov suffered an injury that would force him out of his highly-anticipated UFC 187 showdown against Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone, Pettis took to Twitter to make sure his nemesis enjoyed the taste of his own medicine.
“@TeamKhabib karma is a bitch hope that disability pays well!!!” Pettis tweeted late Wednesday night.
Prior to Pettis losing his UFC lightweight title to Rafael dos Anjos in March, Nurmagomedov petitioned to be next in line for a crack at Pettis’ throne. The confident Russian was convinced he possessed all the tools to shut down “Showtime,” but wondered aloud if yet another injury would once again force Pettis to ride the pine for another extended period.
