Amanda Ribas suspended two years by USADA before ever making UFC debut

Amanda Ribas, we hardly knew ye.

The Brazilian women’s strawweight fighter has been suspended two years by USADA before ever even making her UFC debut, the UFC’s anti-doping partner announced Wednesday.

Ribas tested positive for the banned substance ostarine stemming from an out-of-competition sample collected June 7, 2017. Ostarine is in the Anabolic Agents category of the UFC’s anti-doping policy and carries a maximum sanction of two years for first offenders.

“Ostarine, also known as MK-2866 and Enobosarm, is a non-FDA approved selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM) that is illegally sold in the United States and worldwide as a performance-enhancing substance,” the USADA release stated.
