Aljamain Sterling didn’t waste any time responding to Rob Font’s callout following his win over Thomas Almeida at UFC 220.
The Massachusetts native dropped the highly touted Brazilian with a right hand in the second round of their bantamweight clash. Just as seemed Almeida had regained composure, “Time New Roman” blasted him with a head kick before finishing the fight with grounded shots.
In an interview with Fox Sports after the victory, Font called for a showdown ninth ranked bantamweight, Sterling.
“Like I said, I wouldn’t mind putting Sterling back on the stretcher man, let’s go,” he said in a backstage interview, referencing Sterling’s brutal knockout loss to Marlon Moraes in his last outing.
