A heavyweight clash between Alexey Oleynik and Junior Albini is set for the company’s upcoming pay-per-view card in Rio de Janeiro on May 12, MMA Fighting has confirmed following a report by MMA Today.
Oleynik (55-11-1) is 4-2 inside the Octagon, but looks to get back on track following a weird TKO loss to Curtis Blaydes at UFC 217. That defeat snapped “The Boa Constrictor’s” two-fight submission streak over Viktor Pesta and Travis Browne.
Albini (14-3) made quick work of Tim Johnson in his Octagon debut last July, but failed to keep the momentum going when he met former UFC champion Andrei Arlovski in November, losing via unanimous decision in a lackluster fight.
