A thrilling three-round scrap at UFC 214 wasn’t enough to earn Alexandra Albu a Fight of the Night award, but she did walk out with a win over Kailin Curran and minimal injury.
Though the post-fight medical suspensions listed Albu as having possibly suffered a left orbital fracture that could sideline her for up to six months, the Russian strawweight told MMA Fighting that as far as she knows, she should be cleared to compete again soon.
“Yes, I did see the doctor after the fight, and in fact, I’m feeling very healthy,” Albu said, through translation from her manager Sam Kardan.
