FORTALEZA, Brazil — Alex Oliveira continues his rise as a welterweight in the UFC, and is confident that tapping Tim Means at UFC Fight Night 106 will change the way some fans see him.
“Cowboy" was an underdog in his rematch against Means in Fortaleza, Brazil. In their first clash last December, Means was dominating the contest before he intentionally landed an illegal knee. Oliveira was unable to return, and the referee ultimately ruled the bout a no-contest.
Oliveira not only avenged the beating, but he tapped Means with a rear-naked choke last Saturday — and he admits that it felt good to beat Means in Brazil.
