Aldo foresees 2019 title shot with UFC 237 win, plans to take yearlong sabbatical in 2020

Former long-time featherweight champion José Aldo has grand plans for himself after UFC 237. Should he get past Alexander Volkanovski, the 32-year-old veteran fighter is looking to regain the belt and take a super fight, before ultimately riding into the sunset.

A win over Volkanovksi will be a second consecutive one for Aldo, which for him, is enough to merit a third title fight with Max Holloway, or whomever the champion would be.

“Yes. With (Holloway) or whomever’s there. I don’t know,” Aldo told MMA Junkie when asked if he sees a title fight in 2019.
