The lightweight out of Long Island's Serra-Longo gym wavered on whether to go under the knife ever since he was sidelined over the summer due to lingering right knee issues.
But MMAFighting.com's Ariel Helwani reported on Wednesday's edition of UFC Tonight that since the stem-cell injection treatments Iaqunita has received over the past couple months haven't done the trick, he'll go ahead and get the surgery done.
Iaquinta, who has what's been described as very little cartilage left in his knee, will have a cadaver's cartilage implanted behind his knee cap. He hopes to return to action in 6-8 months.
