Almost eleven years after their now-infamous altercation backstage at PRIDE Shockwave 2005, Silva and Bennett had a confrontation in the lobby of a Japanese hotel on Thursday. Both are in town for the RIZIN Fighting World Grand Prix 2016: First Round event.
Bennett is fighting on the card, while Silva is not. However, Silva, who is in Japan for promotional work, has now decided to corner Bennett's opponent, Minoru Kimura, following the confrontation, MMA Fighting has learned.
Backstage during PRIDE Shockwave 2005 on Dec. 31, 2005, at the Saitama Super Arena, Bennett got into a brawl with Silva's Chute Boxe teammate Cristiano Marcello.
