Nearly 77 percent of UFC 205’s lineup has been set, though the promotion still hasn’t secured a main event for their highly anticipated debut inside the famed Madison Square Garden.
On Friday, the UFC announced a slew of scraps, most notably a strawweight tilt between reigning queen Joanna Jedrzejczyk (pictured) and Karolina Kowalkiewicz.
Jedrzejczyk is perfect through 12 professional outings, with the last three being of the title defense variety. “Joanna Champion” is fresh off July’s unanimous decision victory over bitter rival Claudia Gadelha.
Through 10 fights, Kowalkiewicz’s resume is also unblemished. July’s split decision win over Rose Namajunas at UFC 201 sealed her top contender deal.
