As alluded to following the Portland Timbers triumph in the MLS Cup Final, Will Johnson has moved on from the club.
The Canadian international will call Toronto FC home next season after being traded to the club today from Portland.
The trade sends Johnson to Toronto and in turn, the Timbers receive a conditional second round draft pick in the 2017 SuperDraft and allocation money. Once a mainstay in the Timbers midfield, Johnson has seen his playtime for the MLS Champions take a downturn this season due to injury and the transition of Darlington Nagbe to central midfield.
