Last week was all about the old faces, as the Vancouver Whitecaps established which contract options would be taken up and which would be declined. In the end, the Whitecaps exercised their options on 11 players, while confirming the departure of five, including captain Pedro Morales. So it is only natural that, having survived the MLS Expansion Draft with squad intact, Carl Robinson is now looking to bring some new faces in.
This week, the Whitecaps announced the first of those new faces. Sheanon Williams, right back for Houston Dynamo, has been signed in exchange for general allocation money.
