After coming up just short against rival Seattle Sounders in the Western Conference Semifinals, the Vancouver Whitecaps spent no time resting on their laurels. The Whitecaps announced this week that they have signed 23-year-old striker Anthony Blondell from Venezuelan side Monagas SC.
Blondell has been signed through 2020 with a club option for 2021. The young forward was signed with Target Allocation Money after Vancouver gave FC Dallas $50,000 in General Allocation Money for his rights.
Blondell led the Venezuelan Primera Division in scoring in 2017 with 23 tallies and just recently made his debut with the Venezuela National Team.
