Whitecap Kekuta Manneh has Bruce Arena’s Attention

Bruce Arena’s appointment as U.S. coach couldn’t have come at a better time for Vancouver Whitecaps forward Kekuta Manneh.

The Gambian-born Manneh revealed to MLSSoccer.com in May that he was eligible to apply for a U.S. passport. To achieve eligibility, Manneh has spent his four seasons with the Whitecaps living in Point Roberts, an exclave of Washington State attached to the southern tip of Metro Vancouver. Finally, his daily commutes seem about to pay off. Bruce Arena indicated in a Facebook Live Q&A session on Friday that the 22-year-old forward was on his radar:
