This will be the first meeting between Sweden and the USWNT since they last met in the 2016 Olympic Games, as the Swedes knocked out the U.S. in the quarterfinals in route to their silver medal performance.
It will only be the third time the U.S. has played in Sweden. In 2008 and 2012 the USWNT defeated their Scandinavian rivals in Sweden.
The USWNT will be looking to build on their two victories against Russia in April. They started off 2017 with a disappointing performance at the SheBelieves Cup but have since regrouped.
With a majority of the players in the thick of their National Women’s Soccer League seasons, the form shown by the USWNT should be top-notch.
