The SheBelieves Cup should provide a great showpiece this year for the international game. But first, the USWNT hit the pitch for the first time in 2018 facing off against Denmark. The side was to be a solid test for the US, having reached the 2017 Euro Finals, losing 4-2 to the Netherlands.
The theatrics started in the 19th minute when the USA took the lead. Abby Dahlkemper sent a brilliant aerial pass to Tierna Davidson. She, in turn, headed the ball into the box for Julie Ertz looped a right-foot volley for the score.
Davidson, 19, became the only the third teen to start the Women’s National Team since 2013.
