USSF: Carlos Cordeiro deserves time to create his vision

After a long, contentious, and well-contested election the US Soccer Federation (USSF) begins a new era with Carlos Cordeiro. Elected as the 32nd President, Cordeiro follows a 12 year run by Sunil Gulati.

During Sunil’s reign, the presidential election process has been mostly non-news. Usually unopposed, Gulati oversaw tremendous growth, as well as earned many complaints from across the US soccer landscape. With Cordeiro, who served as US Soccer’s Vice President since 2016 and an Independent Director prior to that, some voices on social media see it as a straight continuation of Gulati’s platform.

However, that doesn’t look to be the case.
