As Wayne Rooney said goodbye to international football with one final friendly appearance for England, the U.S. Men’s National Team tested themselves against the World Cup semi-finalists in the first of two international friendlies against European stalwarts, the second of which coming versus Italy on Tuesday.
The USMNT were largely outplayed by England for large portions of the game, defending terribly and lacking any semblance of intensity in their play, on and off the ball, eventually slumping to a 3-0 defeat. This was a poor showing, that is for sure.
