The United States Men’s National Team struggled past Curaçao in the quarterfinal matchup of the Gold Cup, winning 1-0. They did not play well at all but got the result that was required in a game that will quickly be forgotten. Much credit to Curaçao for playing some decent soccer at times, with a good chunk of the possession.
Weston McKennie scored the game’s only goal after 25 minutes after Christian Pulisic delivered a glorious ball after a beautiful, 14-pass build-up. That was the rare moment of quality for the USMNT, who now advance to the Gold Cup semi-final where they await Andre Blake and Jamaica.
