It was goals galore from the U.S. in the second half as they put five past New Zealand to put the result beyond any doubt.
The score was 1-0 at halftime as Josh Sargent opened the scoring in the 32nd minute with a deflection in front of goal on a Justin Glad shot. It had been a rather one-sided showing in possession in the opening 45 minutes as the U.S. dictated the pace.
In the second half, the U.S. came alive as they broke down the New Zeland defense and were clinical in their finishing.
Jeremey Ebobisse scored in the 64th minute to start the onslaught as he tucked home a shot from just outside the 18.
