Only one goal was needed to win a match that featured a lack of premium scoring chances as the U.S. took a 1-0 victory against Senegal in the second match of the group phase for both sides.
Josh Sargent scored what proved to be the match-winning goal in the 34th minute as he slotted home a shot after a nice turn towards goal. Thus far, the 17-year-old has scored three goals in the tournament.
