Over the last three weeks, U-20 teams from around North and Central America competed in the CONCACAF U-20 championships. Four teams, the United States, Mexico, Honduras, and Costa Rica, qualified for the U-20 World Cup starting in May. The US won the tournament, beating Honduras in the final match by winning 5-3 on penalty kicks after drawing 0-0 in regular play.
Erik Palmer-Brown, Tyler Adams, and Eryk Williamson provided outstanding performances in the midfield. Palmer-Brown won player of the tournament for his impressive work at defensive midfield, and Williamson won goal of the tournament for this stunning volley against El Salvador.
